Gagik Melikyan

Born January 1, 1960, in Berd.
In 1981 graduated from the Department of finance and accounting of Yerevan National Economy Institute and from the extension course, as an economist and lawyer.
In 1981-1983 served in the Soviet Army.
In 1983-1985 worked at Water Utility Construction Company #9, as chief of planning and finance department, in 1986-1989, in Armenian Agroprom, as an audit expert.
In 1989-1991, he was an instructor for RPA branch in Shamshadin district, in 1991-1993, chief accountant at Berd Relay Plant, in 1993-1995, chief of Tavush communications junction, in 1995-1999, manager, Tavush branch of ArmAgroBank.
In 1999, elected to the NA from Precinct #74. Member of standing NA commission for monetary, budget and economic issues, member of "Unity" Alliance.
On May 25, 2003, elected to the NA from the proportional party ticket of the RPA.
Member of standing NA commission for monetary, budget and economic issues. Deputy chairman of ad-hoc committee on determining the effectiveness of the use of loans, credits, grants and humanitarian aid received from foreign governments and International organizations. He is the secretary of the Republican Party of Armenia Faction.
Since 6 September 1998, he has been a member of the Republican Party of Armenia.
On 9 June 2001(6-th congress of RPA), on 12 July 2003 (8-th congress of RPA), on 17 December 2005 (9-th congress of RPA) was elected a member of RPA board.
Married, three children.
