Karen Chshmaritian

Born September 12, 1959, Yerevan
In 1980 graduated from Yerevan Institute of National Economy.
In 1980-1985 was Post-Graduate Fellow at Yerevan Institute of National Economy.
In 1980-1980 was economist in Armenia Branch of USSR State Planning and Normative Scientific-Research Institute.
In 1981-1982 served in the Soviet Army.
In 1985-1990 was senior economist, chief specialist, and head of financial sub-division in Armenian SSR "Petmat".
In 1990-1991 was Deputy General Director of the "HayElektraMekenaMecAr" National Union in Armenian SSR "Petmat"
In 1991-1993 Armenian SSR "Petmat" (RoA Ministry of Material Resources), Head of General Department
In 1993-1996 was Deputy Minister of Material Resources of the RA.
In 1996-1997 was Head of Foreign Trade Department of the RA Ministry of Trade, Services, and Tourism.
In 1997-1998 was First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the RA.
In 1999-2002 was Minister of Industry and Trade of the RA.
Since March 2002 has been the Minister of Trade and Economic Development of the RA.
Member of the Republican Party of Armenia.
On 17 December 2005 (9-th congress of RPA) was elected a member of RPA board.
Married, two children.
