Born in 1946 in Alapars village of Hrazdan district.
In 1969 graduated from the division of mechanics of Yerevan Polytechnics Institute by correspondence.
In 1996 graduated from the Economic Faculty of the Yerevan Institute of External Economic Relations and Management, obtaining a major of an international economist.
In 1963 worked at the Lousavan’s (Charentsavan’s) Machine-tool Factory as a constructor, later – as a foreman of a production division and a head of a production division.
In 1974 worked at the Charentsavan’s Autoloader Factory as a foreman, later – a head of toolware forge and assembly divisions. In 1984, since the establishment of “Hayavto” Manufacturing Group, took the position of the director of operations of the Group. Since 1989 was a deputy of the director-general of the Group in the area of manufacturing, later – a first deputy of the director-general.
In 1992 was appointed the executive director of the “Armavto” JSC.
In 1999 was elected the Mayor of Charentsavan.
In 2001 was appointed the Governor of Kotayk.
Since 2006 is a member of Republican Party of Armenia. Chairman of the Board of the Regional Organisation of Kotayk.
He is a member of RPA board.
Married, has two children.
