Born on 16 October 1952 in Ararat village of Ararat district.
In 1974 graduated from Yerevan Polytechnics Institute.
In 1985 finished the Party Higher School under the Central Committee CPSU in Baku.
In 1974-1975 lectured at an industrial-technical secondary school in Ararat.
In 1975-1980 was a senior technician at the Department of Gas in Ararat.
In 1980-1983 and 1985-1990 had different party positions at the regional committee of CPA of Ararat.
In 1993-1996 worked as a first deputy of the chairman of the Executive Committee of the Regional Board of Ararat.
In 1996-1998 worked as a head of division of transport and road construction of marzpetaran of Ararat.
In 1998-1999 worked as a deputy of the Head of Ararat Marz.
In 1998-1999 was a deputy of the NA (No. 111 electoral district). A member of “Erkrapah” faction.
In 1999 was elected a deputy of the NA (No 34 electoral district). Was a member of Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs, as well as a member of “Miasnutyun” faction. Member of Republican Party of Armenia, Chairman of RPA regional organisation of Ararat.
In 2003 was elected a deputy of NA from the proportional list of RPA (No. 070 electoral district). A member of Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs. A member of RPA faction.
On 22 July 2006 was elected a member of RPA board.
Married, has two children.
