Born in 27 August 1939 in Yelpin village of Yeghegnadzor district of SSRA.
In 1959-1961 served in Soviet army.
In 1961-1966 studied at the agronomical faculty of the Armenian Agricultural Institute.
In 1966-1974 worked as a senior agronomist, a director of state farm of Yelpin village.
1974-1991 held several party, soviet, economic positions.
In 1992-1997 worked in social security authorities.
In 1985 was elected a deputy to the Higher Council of SSRA.
In 1990 was elected a deputy to the Higher Council of RA.
In 1997-1998 worked as a Head of Agricultural Division of the Marzpetaran of Vayots Dzor.
Since 30 June 1998 works as a deputy of the Governor of Vayots Dzor.
In 1981, 1986 was awarded with Medal of Honour.
In 1971 accomplished a candidate thesis, thus obtaining PhD degree in agricultural sciences.
A member of the Republican Party of Armenia.
On 9 March 2002 was elected a Chairman of the Board of the Regional Organisation of Vayots Dzor.
He is a member of RPA board.
Married, has two children.
