Born August 5, 1946 in Charmahal village, Spahan.
In 1965 he was admitted to the Department of cybernetics of Yerevan Polytechnic Institute.
In 1966 he joined the underground United National Party.
In 1974 he was arrested by the KGB for political activities. He worked at a number of enterprises. Over the last 20 years he has worked at different posts at Yerevan Hydro Machinery Plant. During the Karabakh war in 1988-1994 he organised the manufacture of weapons and ammunition.
On May 25, 2003 he was elected to the NA from the proportional party ticket of the RPA, a member of the
parliamentary commission for defence, then, parliamentary commission for internal affairs.
Since 30 November 1998 he has been a member of the Republican Party of Armenia.
On 9 June 2001(6-th congress of RPA), on 12 July 2003 (8-th congress of RPA), on 17 December 2005 (9-th congress of RPA) was elected a member of RPA board.
Married, four children.
