Born on 4 October 1958 in Yerevan.
In 1980 graduated from the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute and received his degree in concentration engineering.
In 1980-1981 worked as a skilled worker and later as an engineer in the mining and metallurgic plant of Jeskazgan, Kazakhstan.
In 1981-1985 worked as an engineer in the “Yerchimshin” trust.
In 1985-1990 was involved in the activities of the communist youth organization.
In 1990-1991 worked in the LYCU.
In 1991-1998 worked as a co-director in the “Erzroum” Scientific Research Association.
In 1998-1999 was deputy head in the Administrative Department of the RA Government.
In 1999-2003 he was director of the Hrazdan Sport Complex.
On 25 May 2003 was elected deputy to the NA from electoral district # 16. Is a member of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations. He is a member of the “People's Deputy” Deputy Group.
Since 31 Jule 2006 is a member of the Republican Party of Armenia.
Married, has two children.
