Born January 12, 1949, in Ararat village, Ararat district.
In 1970-1975 studied and graduated from Yerevan Polytechnic Institute
In 1968-1969 was chief of organisational department of Ararat district Young Communist League.
In 1975-1981 Chairman of Young Communist League at Yerevan Polytechnic Institute, chief of semiconductor and microelectronics laboratory.
In 1981-1987 deputy director at Ararat Industrial Technology College.
In 1987-1991 director of Construction Items Plant at Ararat Industrial Trust, deputy trust director.
In 1991-1993 chairman of Ararat district executive committee.
In 1993-1996 RA Minister of food and supplies.
In 1996-1998 Ararat Province Governor.
In 1998-1999 RA Minister of territorial governance.
In 1999-2000 RA Minister of energy.
In 2000-2002 RA Minister for co-ordination of industrial infrastructure.
From January 2002 to June 2003, RA Minister of agriculture.
Since 1999, he has been a member of the Republican Party of Armenia.
On 30 January 1999(5-th congress of RPA), on 9 June 2001(6-th congress of RPA), on 12 July 2003 (8-th congress of RPA), on 17 December 2005 (9-th congress of RPA) was elected a member of RPA board.
Married, two children.
