27.04.2012

The upcoming elections are very important for Armenia, and the very Armenia must be the winner in those elections, Vice-Chair of the European People's Party Jaime Mayor Oreja said during "Armenia-EU Partnership Prospects" conference, in which Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan and representatives of different political parties participated.

"Good elections will enhance Armenia's authority in international area, including in EU. Democracy and European Union are Armenia's future. We should manage to take the right path and move forward together," said Jaime Mayor Oreja. He is of the opinion that the only difference between Armenia and EU is the democratic young people, and despite that Armenia can and must itself propose democratic values to EU, as Armenia is a commune of values. Oreja finds that we must be consistent in the path we have chosen, and those very values must take victory in May 6 parliamentary elections. "I am sure that Armenia is the part of the European Union, and EU is Armenia's future," he said.

During the conference Jaime Mayor Oreja delivered a report on "Armenia-European Union: Partnership Based on Common Values".
