Mayor Taron Margaryan awarded Krziztof Penderecki with a Gold medal of the Mayor of Yerevan

 Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan had a meeting with the world-known Polish composer Krziztof Penderecki. He has visited Armenia on the event of the 15th jubilee of the international music festival "Yerevan perspectives" which was started with a concert dedicated to the composer’s 80th birthday.
Highly appreciating the contribution of Penderecki to the world music Mayor Taron Margaryan stressed the importance of holding the composer’s concerts in Yerevan.
Presenting the perspectives of the cooperation between Yerevan and Warsaw to the guest, Mayor Taron Margaryan noted that in the summer of 2013 the mayors of Yerevan and Warsaw signed A Memorandum on Intentions according to which the capitals of the two countries are ready to develop cooperation between Yerevan and Warsaw.
Taron Margaryan added that he expected Maestro’s support in the issue of cooperation expansion between the two capital in the sphere of culture.
Within the scope of the meeting Mayor Taron Margaryan awarded the world-famous composer Krziztof Penderecki with the Gold medal of the Mayor of Yerevan for his significant contribution and achievements in the sphere of music and on the event of his 80th jubilee.
The composer expressed gratitude for the appreciation and a special attitude to his art.
Krziztof Penderecki thanked the Mayor of Yerevan for his support in the organization of the music festival "Yerevan perspectives".
