30.01.2014

The issues related to the process of implementation of the charity projects carried out by the German Red Cross in the capital were discussed during the meeting of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan with the delegation headed by the director of Foreign Relations of the German Red Cross Michael Weibel.
Greeting the guests Mayor Taron Margaryan expressed gratitude for the charity projects implemented by the organization in the capital and for their important humane mission.
"The German Red Cross has been carrying out humane activity in Yerevan for about two decades. Taking the opportunity I want to thank you and your organization personally and on behalf of the residents of Yerevan for the charity mission. I assure you that the Municipality of Yerevan is willing to go on showing support in the implementation of all your charitable initiatives which have important social significance", said Taron Margaryan.
Expressing gratitude for warm welcome Michael Weibel noted that the successful cooperation with the Municipality will be long lasting.
"Charity becomes more purposeful when there is active support of the bodies of local self-government. The Municipality is really a reliable partner for us and the best proof of it is the overall support the Municipality of Yerevan shows in the implementation of social programs", stressed the director of Foreign Relations of the German Red Cross.
We'd like to note that within the scope of cooperation treaty signed between the Municipality of Yerevan and the German Red Cross in October 2013 more than 400 needy beneficiaries in Yerevan are provided with hot food due to benevolent project "Charity kitchen" functioning in the administrative districts of Kanaker Zeytun, Kentron and Erebuni districts.
