Schoolchildren are in the Parliament on the Day of Book Presenting

In Armenia February 19, the birthday of the Armenian well-acclaimed poet Hovhannes Tumanian, since 2008 is marked as the Day of Book Presenting. On the occasion of the day the pupils of a number of schools in Yerevan have brought the interesting and beautiful tradition of presenting books to the parliament. The schoolchildren took a tour in the building of the National Assembly, had been in the session hall, presented books to the NA President Hovik Abrahamyan, the NA deputies, the representatives of the staff.

Thanking the schoolchildren, the NA President highlighted such initiatives and visits to the parliament. To his conviction, due to such visits and contacts the representatives of the future generation have an opportunity to get acquainted closer with the NA and its works. Mr Abrahamyan urged the children to effectively use the education years, get knowledge and become a proper citizen for the state.

The Head of the General Education Department of Yerevan Municipality thanked the NA President Hovik Abrahamyan for giving an opportunity to the children to closely get acquainted with the works of the legislative body. She highly appreciated the role of the Republican Children-Youth Recitation Competition-Festival held under the auspice of the NA President in restoring the love towards Armenian Literature and poetry among the schoolchildren.

In consonant with the day the NA President Hovik Abrahamyan presented the book “With Narekatsi” to the schoolchildren, expressing hope that the book with the works of the great Armenian poet and philosopher Grigor Narekatsi would guide them in their life.
