Taron Margaryan had a meeting with the charge d’affaires of the Japan Embassy to the RA Kenichiro Sasame

 Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan had a meeting with the charge d’affaires of Japan to the RA Kenichiro Sasame. Greeting the guest and stressing the high level of Armenian-Japanese relations Taron Margaryan expressed confidence that the opening of the Japanese Embassy in Yerevan at the beginning of next year will give the bilateral relations a new stimulus and promote establishment of ties between Yerevan and Tokyo and other cities of Japan.
“Today Yerevan actively cooperates with a number of big cities and we are willing to establish cooperation with Tokyo as well, I am sure that there are many spheres of mutual interest and the perspectives of cooperation can be really mutually beneficial”, said the Mayor and added that the Municipality of Yerevan is a member of “Mayors for peace” organization which is presided by the Mayor of Hiroshima. Taron Margaryan also noted that the memorial “Peace stone” brought from Hiroshima and placed in the park near the Municipality of Yerevan a month ago, is another proof that Yerevan is ready to develop cooperation with the cities of Japan.
Having thanked the Mayor for warm welcome as well as for willingness to cooperate and sharing his impressions of Yerevan, Kenichiro Sasame assured that within his powers he is ready to assist and support the establishment and development of the ties between the cities. He expressed confidence that after opening the Embassy this process will become more active and practical.
Mayor Taron Margaryan once again re-stated the willingness of the Municipality of Yerevan to establish and strengthen the cooperation with Tokyo and other cities of Japan.
