RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov Meets with the Members of Kazakhstan-Armenia Friendship Group

 On October 30 the RA National Assembly Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov met with the members of Kazakhstan-Armenia Friendship Group. The Head of Armenia-Kazakhstan Friendship Group Garegin Nushikyan and the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Armenia Ayimdos Bozzhigitov were present at the meeting. Welcoming the Kazakh counterparts, Eduard Sharmazanov has highlighted the development and rapprochement of the inter-parliamentary relations, to which the effective cooperation and mutual visits of the friendship groups will greatly contribute.

During the talk the parties touched upon Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union: the interlocutors have expressed conviction that it will promote the development of trade-economic relations of the two countries and will open new perspectives for cooperation.

In the course of the meeting the interlocutors have referred to Karabakh conflict settlement process and the events dedicated to the Armenian Genocide Centennial.

Eduard Sharmazanov has stressed that Armenia sees the settlement of the Karabakh problem exclusively through peaceful means and within the OSCE Minsk Group, noting that there is no alternative for the realization of the right to the people’s self-determination. Regarding the recognition of the Armenian Genocide and its condemnation Mr Sharmazanov has noted that only the recognition and condemnation of such crimes can prevent the further repetition of such realities. The NA Deputy Speaker invited the members of the delegation to take part in the events dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide.

The members of the delegation have also stressed that they see the settlement of the Karabakh conflict through peaceful solution and within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group.
