President of the National Assembly Receives the Head of the CoE Office in Yerevan

 On July 21 Galust Sahakyan received Natalia Vutova, Head of the CoE Office in Yerevan.

Welcoming the guest in the parliament, the NA President highly assessed the cooperation of the National Assembly and the Council of Europe (CoE) Office in Yerevan, which had given positive results during the years. In the NA President’s word, Armenia highlights its cooperation with the Council of Europe and the support of the organisation in the process of the democratic reforms going on in our country. Galust Sahakyan highly appreciated the work of the PACE Monitoring Committee co-rapporteurs.

The NA President expressed hope that Ms Vutova will continue the consistent work of the CoE Office in Yerevan aimed at further strengthening of Armenia-CoE ties.

Highlighting the cooperation of the Office with the parliament the Head of the CoE Office in Yerevan Natalia Vutova has noted that at the moment the main problem of the Office is to support the programmes being implemented in Armenia.

Natalia Vutova has highlighted the work of the CoE Office in Yerevan with the Standing Committees of the National Assembly and has noted that there are all preconditions for the enlargement of cooperation with the parliament. She has noted that the Office observes the passing of the expertise opinions presented by her, the adoption of the draft laws and their compliance with the European standards. Ms Vutova has informed that now the CoE Office works on the amendment of a number of draft laws of the RA Criminal and Civil Codes, aiming to rise the cooperation at institutional level.

Galust Sahakyan wished Natalia Vutova productive work in the fulfillment of her mission.
