The official ceremony of “Erebuni-Yerevan 2797” was held in the square adjacent to Yerevan City Hall which was turned into a stage. The history of foundation of the 12 capitals of Armenia was performed on the stage. All the participants of the celebration were greeted and congratulated by Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan.
“The capital of all Armenians is celebrating its 2797th anniversary and it is traditionally celebrated not only together with the residents but also with numerous guests and friends. Today the eyes of all Armenians are directed at Yerevan and we are proud that our ancient city appears as a modern city confidently taking the way of sustainable development not only in the eyes of our citizens living throughout the world, but before the whole world. I want to assure that each program realized in our capital in the sphere of urban development, investments, social affairs or any other one is definitely aimed at the wellbeing of our dear capital and its population. Every resident of our capital overcome the centuries of hardships, with his honest and devoted work, endless love for the city deserves the right to live in the comfortable and safe city. And today, let’s enjoy this day together and pass our love and warmth to our city and say from the bottom of our hearts,
“Happy birthday, my warm and kind city, happy birthday, Yerevan!”.
