On December 10 the RA NA President Galust Sahakyan received the members of the European Democrat Students organization.
The members of the organization visited Yerevan at the invitation of the young wing of the Republican Party of Armenia. The RPA Young organization is a member of the international student’s structure from this year. Let us note that the delegates of about twenty countries arrived in Yerevan to take part in the Council Meeting of the European Democrat Students organization.
Welcoming the European students in the parliament, Galust Sahakyan has noted that three parties represented in the National Assembly are the EPP members. The NA President has highlighted the students’ involvement in the democratic structures and has noted that he is familiar with the programmes of the organization and the perspectives of cooperation with the Armenian students.
In the NA President’s word, the young people have a paramount role in the establishment, statehood building and strengthening of the country. Talking about the Armenian young people, Galust Sahakyan noted: “A big place is provided to the young people on Armenia’s political agenda. Well-informed and educated young people work in different spheres of the state administration.” In the NA President’s opinion, new programmes and new way of thinking are necessary to the world, and the creators and executors are the young people.
Speaking about the referendum of the Constitutional amendments held in Armenia, the President of the National Assembly has documented that the state turns into more democratic model, and great opportunities are created for the young people to take part in the most important events underway in the country and the statehood building process.
At the end of the meeting Galust Sahakyan gladly answered the students’ questions, which related to the Constitutional Amendments, the youth programmes being implemented in the country and the young people’s involvement in the public and political life of the state.
