RPA Youth Organization participates in the Lebanese discussions concerning the security issues of Christians in the Middle East

On 15-17 January in the capital of Lebanon Beirut a program on «Youth activities, opportunities and political participation» was held. It was organized by the Youth Organization of the Lebanese Forces party. Within the frameworks of the program the Democrat Youth Community of Europe /DEMYC/ was invited to discuss security issues of Christians in the Middle East by the International Young Democrat Union (IYDU).
From the Armenian representatives of DEMYC the member of the Republican Party of Armenia Aleksan Hovhannosyan participated in the program.


About 30 young people from Armenia, Russia, Azerbaijan, Lebanon, Iraq, Albania, Italy, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Morocco, Finland, Denmark and Slovenia participated in the initiative.


At the beginning of the program the participants met with the representatives of the Lebanese Forces party and the representative of Konrad-Adenauer Foundation in Lebanon Mr. Peter Rimmel.


Later there were held discussions on “Youth activities and mobility within the party”, “Youth political participation in the national politics and regional and international events”.
Within the frameworks of the program a DEMYC Council meeting, as well as two conferences of IYDU were held. After the screening of a film about the Lebanese political and religious situation young people also held a discussion on migration crisis, then visited Byblos city and met with its mayor.
