 Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Lithuania to Armenia Erikas Petrikas. Greeting the guests and stressing the friendly relations between the two peoples the Mayor outlined the importance of cooperation expansion with the cities of Lithuania, particularly, with the capital city-Vilnius.
Having thanked the Mayor for warm welcome and the willingness for cooperation Erikas Petrikas noted that the Lithuanian party is also interested in cooperation expansion and assured that he would do everything within his powers to make the bilateral relations more practical.
Stressing that the Republic of Lithuania was the first to recognize the independence of Armenia in 1991 and this year the 25th anniversary of this event is to be marked, the Ambassador suggested Taron Margaryan holding the traditional Lithuanian festival «The day of street musicians» in Yerevan.
Welcoming the idea of holding the festival Taron Margaryan noted that within its powers Yerevan Municipality is always ready to show support in the organization of the festival in Yerevan.
