On 19-20 February at “Hyatt Place” Hotel on the initiative of Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy /NIMD/ a seminar on “Media Relations. Effective co-operation with political parties” was held.

The seminar was organized for the young representatives of parliamentary parties ahead of the 4th Forum of Young politicians of the South Caucasus to be held in March in Tbilisi. 4 members of RPA Youth Organization participated in the program. It was led by the PR specialist, analyst, former President and Director of “Armenpress” press agency.

At the course of the seminar, participants got familiarized with PR and MR functions and tools in the political sphere, basic rules of work of political parties with media, personal information management, theoretical and practical provisions ensuring election campaigns. They acquired practical skills of interviewing, conducting press conferences, preparation of press releases. Issues concerning print media characteristics and advantages of the Internet were discussed.

Referring to the current challenges of media the trainer Tigran Hakobyan noted that the party's youth is often perceived as the bearer of all the negative phenomena associated with the party, and there is a lack of confidence that young people can bring new ones and make changes, but nowadays youth is flexible enough to withstand such challenges.

Trainers highlighted the importance of organizing such trainings in terms of new knowledge, exchange of opinions and solving communication problems.
