On September 9, the RA NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan received delegation led by the Head of the Socialist Faction of the National Assembly of the Republic of France .
Welcoming the guests in the Armenian parliament, Galust Sahakyan noted with satisfaction that such visits promote the further deepening and advancement of the Armenian-French relations.
The NA Speaker, touching upon the recognition of the Armenian Genocide and the NK conflict, highlighted the delegation’s visit to Nagorno Karabakh last year. In this context Galust Sahakyan emphasized with satisfaction that Armenia has always received French partners’ support in both cases. The NA Speaker expressed hope that the French Parliament will be consistent in submitting and adopting a new bill.
The Head of the Parliament, condemning the severe terrorist acts in Paris and Nice and the events before that, assured that Armenia is always beside friendly France .
Highly appreciating the effective cooperation with the friendship groups, the NA President spotlighted their Heads’ great contribution to the advancement of interparliamentary relations.
The Head of the Socialist Faction of the National Assembly of the Republic of France Bruno Le Roux , expressing gratitude to the RA NA Speaker for the warm reception, noted that France-Armenia relations are friendly and they are glad to be here on the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Independence of Armenia and Karabakh. The Head of the delegation, touching upon the recognition of the Armenian Genocide, stated that everything is being done to adopt a law which will complete the recognition of the Armenian Genocide and criminalize the denial.
In the word of the Head of the delegation, they are concerned by Azerbaijani policy, the evidence of which is the war unleashed by Azerbaijan in the beginning of April. It inflicted many casualties. He noted that they visited the line of contact last year and got acquainted with the inhabitants’ problems and expressed willingness to help young people of Artsakh. According to him, today they are implementing that program.
